Virgil Abloh’s Mercedes-Maybach Off-Road Concept is Showcased in Drake’s Music Video for ‘Sticky

Drake, Toronto's favorite son, will share the screen with the late Virgil Abloh’s Mercedes - Benz Project Maybach Concept.

In the video for his new single, “Sticky,” Drake has shown off his late friend’s creation, the Mercedes-Benz Project Maybach concept. Abloh-created EV was first shown shortly after his death last year.

The video, directed by Theo Skudra, offers a glimpse into the life of one of the world's most famous people. We observe Drake performing for an adoring audience of thousands, jetting between continents and obtaining some much-needed relaxation. Abloh's Project Maybach steals the spotlight during one of these scenes.

After donning his finest outdoor gear—an Arc'teryx jacket and Diemme boots included—Drake jumps around the awesome electric car in the video. In one of the most incredible looks we've seen yet of the long-nosed off-road vehicle, two associates fish as the video begins. It's a large vehicle, and we can see how big it is by its six-foot height. It is a significant animal, and Drake looks tiny in comparison. The emcee takes us inside the automobile, where we see its sand-colored cabin and other eye-catching aspects, such as a jewel-adorned steering wheel and a marine compass. We don't observe the car climbing rocks or wading marshes, but it obviously looks up for either.

Drake has shown off Mercedes-Benz’s most exclusive automobiles in several of his music videos before. In 2020, he showed both versions of the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6—a ruby red coupe and a midnight blue convertible—in the video for “Laugh Now Cry Later.”

We believe there will be future concept vehicles, whether Mercedes or otherwise, sharing the screen with Toronto's favorite son.
